Why I Built This Website
I am "over" my career! I think I've been feeling this way for some time, but as I build my website the desire to get off this rollercoaster is just growing. I need to create another source of income to make my dreams a reality, and with today's economy who couldn't use some extra money? Not too long ago I was thinking about switching to an all-raw diet (or at least mostly raw), and was searching online for information. I had decided I needed to take back control of my life and my health. I had recently joined a network marketing company that specialized in all-natural, preservative-free foods, and that jumpstarted my thoughts into high gear to get me back on track. Even Then I Was a Little SkepticalWas it really possible to make money just talking about scrapbooking? And would people really want to know about me and MY scrapbooking adventures?
I took that Action Guide and all the tools and the e-books and everything else Site Build It! has available and I began building my website. This is not a get-rich-quick program (it is taught in over 20 colleges and universities!), and it does take a lot of work and devotion, but I quickly found myself becoming addicted to working on my site! It's a topic I am passionate about so it doesn't seem like a chore. Who wouldn't like to work at a job they love? And I do view this as a part-time job. My GoalsMy goal is to get my site up and running within two months of starting it (Memorial Day weekend 2009). It's been "live" since I built my first page, but I haven't really told anyone about it. Then I would like to earn back my initial investment within the first two months after that.By the end of the first year I would like to be making enough to cut back on my full-time job so I will have more time to participate and enjoy my son's senior year of high school before he leaves for college.
