Uncle Sam
I am thrilled to feature Uncle Sam as our first pattern. Angela O'Neill from West Des Moines, IA created this adorable Uncle Sam using a number of different punches. It is so clever! And just in time for those Fourth of July pages. And wouldn't he look great on some
military scrapbooking
pages, too!
Angela was kind enough to show us Uncle Sam before he was assembled. This is punch art at its finest! Thank you, Angela, for sharing this delightfully creative paper piecing pattern!
Scrapbook Quilt Page
I had a vision in my mind of paper piecing this page together to make it look like a quilt. I think I did a pretty good job, don't you? I used digital scrapbooking software (Stampin' Up! My Digital Studio), and just reduced the opacity of each piece from 20 to 50%, depending on the intensity of the color and pattern. I did that to make them look a little more worn. Then I added some zigzag stitching, the wording, and a few knots. I'm pretty happy with the results.
