Scrapbook Paper Trimmers

There are many scrapbook paper trimmers to choose from. How do you know which one will work best for you?

Some questions to ask are will you be doing all your scrapbooking at home or will you do a lot of it on the go? Will you be doing 12x12 albums or will they all be smaller? Do you need a trimmer that can cut more than one sheet at a time? Will you be using your paper cutter for more than just scrapbooking?

Once you've better identified what your needs will be, then you'll be more prepared to select the right scrapbook paper trimmer for you. Personally, I have two paper cutters that I use all the time, so you might find that you will need more than one, too.

FiskarsŪ Euro Deluxe 12'' Paper Trimmer FiskarsŪ Euro Deluxe 12" Paper Trimmer has a swing-out ruler that will measure up to 15.5" and is perfect for cutting 12x12 paper, which is pretty much the standard size for scrapbooking. It is lightweight and easy to transport, and is an excellent choice for scrapbooking on the go.

In addition to my FiskarsŪ Paper Trimmer I also use a Carl Cutter, which I love!

Carl Cutters Although lightweight, the Carl Cutter is not as portable as the FiskarsŪ. However, it will cut multiple sheets of paper or cardstock, and will even cut mat board, acetate, and more! These trimmers come in different sizes, including a smaller one that you could carry with you. I have not tried that size yet. The only drawback with my larger Carl Cutter is trying to cut scraps of paper that are smaller than, say, 2" or 3", for that I pull out my FiskarsŪ.

You can purchase additional decorative edge blades for the Carl Cutters, such as pinking, victorian, perforating, scallop, and short wave to add a lot of variety.

The larger Carl Cutters are pricier than the FiskarsŪ, however I use mine a lot more often and wouldn't be without it. And it comes with a manufacturer's lifetime warranty!
