Closing the scrapbook

by Katie
(Malvern, PA, US)

Hi...

I can't get my scrapbook to close. I don't want to force it. The scrapbook has a mini clasp to use, but my scrapbook is fanning out too much to use this. Is there something like I can do to extend the clasp? Any other things I can try?

There is still much more for me to fill the scrapbook in with and I can't even close it as it's halfway done.

I do not want to get a new scrapbook, I still want to use my same one.

Thanks!

Answer: I'm so sorry for taking so long to answer this question, it somehow got lost in all the shuffle.

Identical scrapbooks may not hold the same number of completed pages, depending on how much layering you do and embellishments you add. There is a limit to how big you can go, and so as not to damage your scrapbook you might have to get another one (Vol. 2) to continue on.

As for creating some sort of decorative tie to extend the clasp, I can't think of anything right now but perhaps other readers might have some great ideas. However, that probably won't help much and most definitely not enough to double your book. Sorry.

Straps

If your scrapbook is a post-bound album, you can replace the posts with extender straps. They work really well and are sold in most stores that sell scrapbooking materials.
