Christmas Scrapbook Card

Making your own Christmas cards is a very popular paper craft, so why not make cards that includes a family photo? But if you are planning on making your own remember that it is never too early to start.

While you might not quite be in the spirit of the holiday, you don't want to leave this for a last-minute task. You especially want to think about getting the right picture for your cards. You can have everyone posed for the traditional group shot, or you can be a little creative and think outside the box.

My friends in Florida put on Santa hats every fall for their family shot, and you never know where it will take place: at the beach, on the golf course, in the pool. They are so adorable and I look forward to them every year. One of these days I plan on putting them in their own little photo album.

Digital Scrapbook Software Can Help

If you don't have time to sit down and make 30 or 50 or 100 cards by hand, you might consider using a digital scrapbook software program. There are a few really good ones out there. Here I used My Digital Studio by Stampin' Up! It has designs that coordinate with their exclusive line of stamps and paper, and they have templates for designing cards built right in it. The top card was so quick and simple, it probably took all of five minutes to make. The design was already "built," so all I had to do was select it, add the photo, and save. So easy! The second one was a pre-made template, also, but I added a few extra elements... probably took me ten minutes to make.

Another nice thing about making Christmas scrapbook cards using digital scrapbook software is you can print and mail them, or to save money you can just send them by e-mail. No postage or envelopes necessary!
